An internal presentation to Random House: With inspiration for book publishers from all kinds of service design, Turnstone explained that, like the New York Times, the book publishing industry should leverage their expertise in distributing medium-agnostic, high quality, curated content and embrace rather than resist new forms of consuming media. The talk rightly speculated that as tablets (Kindles, iPads, smartphones etc) arrived on the market, screen-based reading experiences would be a bonus, rather than a threat, to the publishing industry.
